Intuitions
The distance-little afar,
Trust a little too close,
Hadn't given much thought,
we knew- they'll know.
A sweet escape,
Or a crafty ruse,
I know not,
No more, nor you.
The smiles of tomorrow,
Dampened by mellow words,
The words of today fail,
With promises of tomorrow made.
A key with no door,
A silent retreat,
Into a pompus court,
Where the leaves of autumn fall.
