Creative Writing Challenge - Task #9 - Continue The Story
Welcome to the last round of the Creative Writing Challenge!
We are at the end of this exciting writing project. For the last few weeks it was a huge pleasure to think, write and interact with you. As a host, I learned a lot. According to my impressions you've also benefited in various ways.
I would continue in the same direction, however we still have the last task before we close the challenge, re-think what has happened and quickly take a decision how to continue. I'm planning a 'behind the scenes' type of post as well as one post filled with curious stats about your activity.
Time to reveal the last task!
Creative Writing Challenge
NUMBER NINE
NUMBER NINE

Take a look at the text below. This is the beginning of a story. Your task is to finish it.
Directions:
- be as much authentic as possible (if you are in doubt if you should describe a lot of actions or just one action in great details choose the latter)
- try limiting the dialog and put accent on describing feelings
- if you think it's suitable, use objects to describe ideas (we've partially exercised this one in one of the previous tasks)
I poured the milk over the cornflakes and I was just about to start reading my morning newspaper when my son Peter who was 10 years old at that time surprisingly asked me a question:
-- Dad, how did you meet my mom?
Since it was Saturday and the bad weather has changed our plans for the weekend, I decided to spend some time with him and tell him the whole story.
-- Of course, Peter. I'm surprised that you haven't asked me earlier. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. It happened on a warm August day two years before you were born....

@steemfluencer :)
I'm sure I'll get a chance to say it again, but thanks to @steemfluencer for creating the tasks and the posts and moving things along so well. It's more work for him to manage all of us than it is for each of us to manage just each of ourselves, and I'd love to see the 'behind the scenes' :) Thanks for the fun writing projects! Hopefully we all end on a high note with task #9!
Thanks for participating @negativer! It was worth putting the efforts. Yes, the regular work on the challenge created various issues and curious situations worth mentioning in a separate post.
My entry for creative writing task 9

Ah, that's a fun angle on it, to have the kid watch a movie about his mom meeting his dad. I like the pictures mixed in, that helps visualize it all. Good story!
I like it. I was seeing it in my head like it was shot on a GoPro mounted to his head or chest, kind of the first person view.
Thanks you. Congrats on your winnings! Way to go. 🐓🐓
Nice comparison : )
Yes, this is an interesting assignment. We'll see what happens. 🐓🐓
The married ones should have a little advantage.. : )
It is a fun project. Hope to have mine up later tonight. My brain is working is churning! Haha! 🐓🐓
Looks like your entry was among the most successful ones. Well done! :)
That is nice to hear. I tried not to compare myself to the other contestants, which were very talented. So I thank you for that. 🐓🐓
This is going to be interesting...
I missed 7 and 8... huhuhu... but will participate on this last task.. ^^
Would be interesting to see your submission at least one more time.
Pressure is on! :-)
Cool!:)
I just wanted to thank you as well, @steemfluencer! This really was quite the experience. I've never done any kind of writing like this - not even in English class in college! At first, I kept thinking, oh now what am I going to do with these restrictions? But it was cool to see how each of us formed them around our own way of thinking to come up with unique stories and poems.
Great job!
Happy to read that. Indeed, it was really interesting how each of you was following his or her own way.
Congratulations! This post has been upvoted from the communal account, @minnowsupport, by Kubby Elizabeth from the Minnow Support Project. Here is my submission for Task #9! Thanks for reading!

Good to see you as one of the most consistent challengers. Congratulations for finishing the 9 tasks! :)
Ah, thanks for noting I made my way through all 9. :) I admit the prize pool was a nice carrot, but I absolutely enjoyed all the writing too, and I'm proud of everything I wrote. Thanks!
I like the reference of the music box for the act of bringing the memories to the forefront. It's very good imagery and I can fit that so some of my memories.
While a bit dark, the general idea of the story probably plays out in real life fairly often.
I admit I do tend towards the darker side on these stories. Thanks for reading it!
Here is my entry for the final task. This was super fun and really got my head in a far more creative state than it has been in for a long time. Thank you @steemfluencer for putting this on and for moderating.

I liked this, it felt very authentic. I kind of want to know what was so bad about that interview that everyone had heard about it :)
Thanks. I was going to dive into the interview but I realized I would get WAY too sidetracked with that part. The primary point for me was that the story is being told to his 10 year old son, so I tried to keep it on about that level.
Well done @flemingfarm! That's amazing because my head is in a more creative state as well. My memory has improved as well.
Happy to see you at the end of the challenge @flemingfarm! You've done a great job and as I remember you now have a book for finishing,
Thank you, this was quite fun and very useful for my head.
Time is the most frustrating thing to existence... there just doesn't seem to be enough of it. One of the key things I learned from the experience of these 9 tasks was to just write. The more I write and spew forth the things hidden within my head, the more likely I am to remain in a creative state. I'm using that to help keep me driven to finish my story.
