A TRIP IN THE TRIP, with Lord Skyscraper - Winning short story for the F-1000 contest

in #writing6 years ago (edited)

I'm walking on the highway in Singapore, no sidewalks and I came across this view, where I took a photo to witness the hubris of this city.
Excuse me, Lord Skyscraper, excuse me!
I am so impressed by your highness.
Would you talk with me?
Can we discuss the reason you are there, standing in the middle, covering what would be a glorious sunset?
You, arrogant wanker!
You upset me.
I have been reckless, weirdly content and in love with every being.
You are a being too, isn’t it? Do you have dignity?
I want to embrace the sun, the nature and the sky.
You are ruining the magic.
This is the second afternoon in a row I took mdma and I haven’t been sleeping since 50 hours.
I'm not sure for how long I haven't changed my underwear and washed myself. I’ve justified myself in all the possible ways and now I'm taking photos and talking with Lord Skyscraper personality.
What a poetry is this life, this city and this view, not quite same same but different.

Based on a true story.

This photo was taken by @majes.tytyty (who has a very educational/musical/photo blog!) and this short story was written by myself for the description of the above picture and as entry for his writing contest here

This post does not advise in any way to take drugs.

As ever, your response / entry into the contest featured interesting content and great writing. Thanks for taking part, and, again, CONGRATULATIONS on winning.

Just for clarification, I noticed that your post does not, in any way, state that taking drugs is bad or harmful. Nor does it warn anyone about any possible or presumed dangers. So, are you hinting that, just maybe, drugs may NOT ruin your mind, your career, your life?

Just wondering.

Of course they do, but not all and at different degrees. That's the reason I added "This post does not advise in any way to take drugs."

I have always liked your interpretation of the English language
It has something different to it because it is your second language. You emote differently

Next time let's have a story about constipation.

Yes, she does have a great way with words – particularly considering that English is her second language!

Such a HIGH building needs such a BIG :

What a lovely trip within a trip within a trip. Fuck you Lord Sky raper and your fallic shape raping the sky of my sunshine.

"Lord Sky raper!" Love it.

Oh, no! Che terribilezza, qualcuno ti ha drogato! Chi è stato il colpevole del tuo golpe di stato (mentale) ?

Sandrina have you looked into using Steepshot.io check It out if you get a chance!

@kryptocek I open the website and it already irritate me for all the flash-tech in it. Is another steemit app?

Yup you can just post your pictures through it, similar to instagram.

That stuck out like a sore thumb. I guess it's one of life's many curve balls. Have you considered moving to the side a bit so that the view won't be blocked? Where in Singapore is this? I would love to insult this very same skyscraper face to face as well.

Someone else took this photo, I only made up the story (which is not too far from the reality) to participate to a contest and I arrived second. Never been very much attached to ultra developed busy cities such as Singapore. I'm a small town girl.

You and me both. A small town kind of person, that is :/ I would much rather have to travel by bike through dirt roads than a bustling city filled with cars.

It's "Riverine by the Park." You can find it on Google Maps.

p.s. Most places and buildings in Singapore are not as obtrusive as this monster. I just thought that the morning sun, the streetlights, and the clouds framing the building made a great scene. ... And a half decent photo that inspired some very good writing.
