So to another faux** freewrite -- this time, a 5-minute freewrite with another prompt, which is...

"Player"

Wanna play with me?

... What exactly do you picture when you hear the word, player? Most people may think of a nerd,  a shutaway, a gamer (my girl gamer friend denies being a gamer because of this, lol!)

On the other hand, I thought about the word again, it sounded more like a creep -- the type of player you see in the dating scene. The type that people may direct a lot of unwanted stares at. A creepy Casanova. A player. In this context, being a "player" is a negative thing, and all people who flirt are bad.

I got one eye one you

That, I tell you, is true! True, half of the time.

"Half of the time?!"

is what you may scream. "How can being a player ever be a good thing??"

Being a player is bad, yes! But somehow where I am, I see that people are judged for simply flirting around with different people ! If you lead many people on and into making out and whatnot, yes, that is bad! But when people say that you are just as bad for flirting -- SIGH. The people who say these things are hurt from their past experiences and are assuming that everyone who flirts with you is trying to take advantage of you.


Neigh, there.
What about you and me,
And a one night stand?
This is too complex for me to express in a 5 minute freewrite (faux freewrite), but if you think that I am not grounded in fact, let me tell you. I myself once subscribed to the very beliefs you held.
A complex subscription.
I mean painting.
I feel that being brought up, without a father -- let me rephrase that -- without a healthy father figure, I was never taught about healthy expressions of sexuality -- much less how to accept them. I was surrounded by negative messages about the male sexuality. To the extent that, even though I would always love watching romance shows, I could ever only feel puzzled as to how the freaking hell romance could translate into real life. Growing up, I did not know how to behave around girls, and my sexuality was something I had to rebuild myself.
So, uhm, wanna be my girlfriend?

So then.

As my freewrite 5-minutes come to a close, I shall begin to conclude.

If you asked me. Yes, being a player in the dating context is a bad thing. But what is of greater importance is whether or not a person is being a player. Whether a person is being creepy. Whether flirting is in itself a bad thing.

I have not built any case as to flirting being a good thing. But I'd like to ask you one question: Can it be a good thing to judge sexuality, if it has the impact to screw up a child's love life?

I love my love life.
