Just along the road from Rosebank, a tired old ghost is always ready for bed at a former hotel in Brading. The elderly ghost wearing a long white nightshirt haunts a bedroom at Old Kiln.

The first Peggy knew of the ghost was when she overhead two regular guests talking at breakfast. They were discussing their rooms and one lady said quite proudly, "I am in the ghost room."

Another guest who often brought school parties to the hotel asked Peggy, "Did you know you have got a ghost in room three? I usually see the shade of a little elderly man in a white nightshirt float across the end of the bed. The ghost had apparently come through the wall at the entrance to the passageway and seemed quite kindly and old."

Although Peggy has not seen the ghost herself, but she has seen the works of the ghost. "I usually went in to inspect the room after the chambermaids had been round, and in room three, I would often find a dip in the middle of the bed as though someone had been lying there. I was always having to straighten the counterpane in the room"
