This story begins in Spain, on the island of Mallorca, specifically in the capital: Palma de Mallorca. There the Count and the Countess de la Palma lived.

The Countess, after a high-risk pregnancy due to her age, gave birth to a girl, but died in childbirth. The girl was baptized with the name of María de los Ángeles de la Palma. Her father never married again, staying true to the memory of his late wife.

The years passed and Maria de los Angeles de la Palma became a very beautiful woman, elegant, refined but simple, far from the pride, haughtiness and arrogance that characterized her father and that she, instead of learning or copying, secretly rejected .

María de los Ángeles fell in love with a commoner who hid her identity at the beginning, to be sure that his love for her was sincere and not simply a farce to approach her due to her great wealth in fortune goods.
