"A TIME TO BE SILENT AND A TIME TO SPEAK"

There is always beauty in tranquility. Even though some people do not know that the peace that exist when the tongue is held at bay surpasses several gifts money could buy. The Tongue had killed hundreds of people by starting war, and it had also saved lives. The problem is, when to be silent and to speak; a fundamental training that could only be learnt by some life experiences.

Mr.Xyle is a bookstore keeper around the block in a Megalopolis, she had run the shops for over 2 decades but not in absolute peace of mind. The reason; a gangster ring always come every fortnight to collect unofficial tax, after paying the official tax to the Government.

Several business owners had fled the block as this appalling act became so rampant and the cops could do nothing about it, simply because many of this cops are as dirty as these Gangsters therefore, the Security supposedly created to ensure peace and security is the ones brewing unrest.

Xyle had relocated his family out of the Neighborhood few years back, but business is hard to be uprooted and replanted. So on occasions, his grown-up daughter would come and give him a hand any time she is available to do so. But on a ill night, Mr.Xyle's daughter was around when the Gangster tax collector came to collect their unruly dues.

As usual, they rummage his store before taking their taxes, on this unfortunate night his daughter was sexually abused and this pained Xyle to the marrow. Federal authorities had been on this gang's tail in the past and they keep coming asking for details of this Notorious Crime ring but the Neighborhood is ever afraid of backlashes from this Gangster group.

On the faithful night, as Mr.Xyle rushed his little girl to the Hospital after calling 911, at the ECR there is this group of men; A special Ops of some sort whose member had been attacked and also in the Emergency room. Mr.Xyle was silently sobbing as he walked over to the vending machine to get some drink when he bumped into one of this Special Ops team who are just few days away to been redeploy back to the Middle-East.

Mr.Xyle was apologizing at the same time using his Overcoat to clean the man's shoe, the young man in one grip lifted Xyle up and whispered "It's okay sir". Looking into the Young man's eye, he could see Blood and Vendetta written in there and in a splash of seconds Mr.Xyle bursted out...

In few minutes he had related and mention the whole dynasty of the Gangster that had been terrorizing the neighborhood. With a smile the young man ask for addresses and some other names; shook his head and said something like a command in "Spanish"...The whole squad rushed out of the Hospital.

The following morning, it was the wailing of sirens and the noise of the TV that woke Mr.Xyle up in the Hospital room where his daughter had been admitted. From the Headline of the News:

A bloodbath at a given address with over 123 gang members killed and 7 butchered!

...The End!

Know when to speak or to be quiet

There are reproaches that fall badly;
to be quiet is sometimes a sign of common sense.
But to make a reproach is better than to recover one's wrath.
who recognizes his wrongs avoids trouble.
Who wants to restore his right by force
makes one think of a eunuch eager to force a girl.
Some are silent, showing their wisdom
and others are hateful to speak.
There are two kinds of people who are silent:
those who have nothing to answer
and those who know when to speak.
A wise man will wait for the right opportunity,
but a boastful man, a man without common sense,
let it pass.
Whoever speaks too much will soon become hateful;
who does not dare to speak will be hated.

Thanks for sharing @oluwoleolaide

awesome post and writing is too good... thanks for sharing a nice post... i waiting for your next post...

Oh my! The terrorism of gangster-ism! i can almost feel Mr Xyles's pain. Meeting the young special ops guy was just the climax he needed. The resultant blood bath the next day may not have changed what happened, but it would definitely have brought Mr Xyle and his daughter some closure. @oluwoleolaide, I hope this is fiction though

77% fictitious, Mr.Xyle might carry the guilt all over but he would take solace in the Retribution that befell those gangsters...

It's so unfortunate, similar things like this stories happens in thIs part of the world we come from.. But it happens that when such dastardly act is been perpetrated and reported to the people expected to safeguard life and properties, they end up exposing u to d killers, all because the bad people pay 10x there salary.

That's one reason many people keep quiet and that's d reality we face in the
World except ur lucky to speak to d right authority who haven't been bribed or bought by bad gangs.
