Welcome to the third edition of the flash fiction #steemitwritingprompt challenge!
For those of you familiar with Reddit's WritingPrompt subreddit, you're going to feel right at home. Otherwise, the rules are simple:
1) I will submit a writing prompt in the form of a simple story idea or premise.
2) You all will write stories based on the prompt and submit them as comments on this post. It can be as long or short as you like. Entertainment is the goal!
3) We (the Steemit community) will upvote the best stories and on Steemit that means making money!
Even if you don't write fiction, it's a fantastic way to exercise your creative muscles, become a better story teller, and a more well rounded writer!
And I promise to read every response, so at the very least you have reader in me.
The masses, once small players on the world stage, are now heard voices, sending the market cap of a wide variety of crypto currencies to the moon. Sites like Steemit had trained millions in the use of crypto currency, and in the process created an unprecedented host. Financial legion.
Even now, the newly rich are banding together to further their interest, a unique repetition of history that does not go unnoticed by legislators and those in power.
In the din of the ensuing financial crash in progress, there are whispers of unrest among these new elite, whispers that question the system itself...
This is great! Nice job @prufarchy. I love how even the shortest of stories can be entertaining and compelling.

Awesome! I'm glad the prompt got some love. I think we've all, at some point, thought about what would happen if fiat took a severe blow and suddenly crypto became unstoppable. It may be fantasy for our lifetimes, but juicy stuff. I was blown away by @mindover's ... I'd read that book!
There are epic runs on the banks! They run out of fiat! The feds print more and contribute to the downward spiral! Millions - no, billions starve! Houses collapse! The moon turns dark as sackcloth! This post needs more exclamation points!
And after about half the population dies off, we're left with world peace, the end of hunger, space mining, and an abundant supply of unlimited energy for everybody. Pretty amazing what some nerds on steemit are able to accomplish, huh?

I just finished typing up a decent response for my writing ability, and I scroll down to read other peoples' comments and I see one that is damn near identical in structure to mine. I just killed it and wrote this instead.
You should post it! Its okay if its similar to another response.
