Lightning Round Write-Up - LENTICULAR - a 99 word story
The Lightning Round Write-Up is a daily writing challenge that uses the Merriam-Webster word of the day. Here is my submission for the February 8, 2020 #ninetyninewords story.

LENTICULAR
Andrew was so bored! His parents dropped him like a turd at this old man's house for the entire summer.
Even though the old man was his grandfather, Andrew never met him until this summer. The old coot just grunted instead of talked but, one evening, the old man took him to the old barn.
Like, I haven't seen this in every horror movie, Andrew thought.
"Come here, boy."
To Andrew's amazement, the old man revealed the most amazing lenticular telescope he'd ever seen.
Suddenly, the old man was much more interesting as they gazed at the stars together.
