Abducted - Short Story

After the physical and verbal abuse Camila suffered, she decides to leave her husband and goes to a small town on the outskirts of the city. The town called Santa Barbara, had few inhabitants and there was only one restaurant, which at night worked as a bar and a small grocery store. For Camila, who was used to the bustle of the city, it was a boring town, she did not have anything entertaining to do, except to go to the bar at night.

One night Camila is encouraged to go to the bar for a drink, she puts on a nice dress and her favorite heels, she meets some young people and has fun dancing and talking. At nightfall and after a lot drinks, she decides to leave and goes to her vehicle, she feels nauseous on the way and stops at the side of the road, when suddenly a very bright light blinds her, Camila can see nothing, but she feels a needle sting in her arm, begins to lose consciousness and faints. She gets up at dawn disoriented, she can not understand what happened, she just feels a terrible headache.

After a few months Camila does not feel well, has nausea and a lot of fatigue so she decides to go to the doctor, after several exams this tells her that she is pregnant, she is surprised since she did not remember how it could happen, since she had arrived in town eight months ago she had not been with any man, she did not know who the father might be. Distressed, Camila began to remember, she thought that that night in the bar she was so drunk that maybe some man could have taken advantage of her condition and did not remember, she was very worried but abortion was not a solution, her religion would not allow it.

Camila continued with her pregnancy, only left the house to buy groceries, she was very lonely and had no one to turn to, since she did not want to call her family for fear that her husband would find out. Her pregnancy was normal, although she felt strange cravings and had trouble sleeping, she had recurring dreams where beings she could not describe experimented with her body, she felt very nervous.

One night she woke up with a lot of pain, she was going to have her baby, she took her things and ran to her vehicle, she had to travel several kilometers to the nearest hospital, but on the way back a blinding light made her stop the vehicle, she felt it was taken somewhere but for some reason, she could not move. When she managed to open her eyes she was in a kind of white room resembling an operating theater, strange beings were around her and the last thing she remembers is that they injected a red liquid into his vein.

Camila woke up in her vehicle very disoriented, but she was not pregnant anymore, she did not have a belly, she thought she was going crazy, she started to cry and as she could, she went back home. After several days she left town, no one would believe what had happened, in order to move on with her life Camila decided that everything had been a dream.
