RE: The Unofficial IBT Book of Universal Records
Hello Viog37,
Thankyou for taking the time to enrol, participate and for leaving this important comment.
The fact it took me this long to read and reply, just goes to show how busy I am (which I hate to say, but it's just a fact). An unfortunate consequence is I just can't get to everyone and give them the close attention they deserve.
One of the great things about IBT is many people like @cryptonik and @doughtaker (whom are also crazy busy) some how find time help out and try to steer new people along the way. They do this of their own free will and expect nothing in return (although yes I may reward with an upvote to a couple of words here and there to say thanks on behalf of all players). I may also occasionally upvote at the end of a trail or as a way of indicating or highlighting a particular comment to grab attention.
It's really important to read the rules and learn what other people are doing. With IBT the players don't expect to receive anything, up votes or prizes (this is the same across the whole steemit platform).
The interaction from IBT doesn't come from me? I am just the current host of this developing Steemit Community event; interaction comes from all the players, volunteers and yourself. In this sense if your post/reply/story is of a quality that people liked, every player has an equal opportunity to upvote you, reply to you etc....
Still, you are correct as host I need to be more respectful and try to get to all the players (in particular the new ones). All I can do is say sorry, I'll take it under consideration and try to do my best.
In the end, IBT is an experimental self manage, progression based competition. This means you do need to read the rules, progress on your own, think creatively on how to post quality and then interact with others as well. The whole thing is developing and helping in a developing project means things go wrong or people get overlooked.
If it matures into a polished piece, it will be much easier for participants, volunteers and myself to focus on the storytelling aspect - and this might be a better time for you to join.
Joining now and you are more donating your time as a tester (and I may not have made that clear enough for new participants)...as a tester you must be prepared that your quality content may not get the kind of look in it deserves.
Thank you for the feedback, I will attempt to re-enforce during enrolment and information posts that this is not a polished product and that it is in development only, plus lift my game a bit to helping new players.
Cheers
Hello. I understand what you mean here. What i was saying was not referring about the rules of the game and about what people are doing in their free time. But about improving the quality of the game by rewarding those who provide better quality to the interactive game through what they post. As i've seen many ridiculous few lines comments from participants, which only took half a minute barely to write; compare that to dedicating up to half an hour for fully engaging and integrating as much possible the character into the world created by the game and reacting to it and to its dynamics. That's how i see this thing.
No worries, now I understand where your coming from.
Unfortunately no this is not a creative writing contest in that sense...but I do like the idea. You should try hosting one, seriously, it's a good idea :) and IBT is about spawning other ideas and supporting others, so if you wanted to do a comp like this I'd be happy to try and help.
IBT is a fun, break from the standard Steemit posts. The way value is measured is different. If someone does a fun or serious description of their attack and then backs it up with a picture it will likely get an up-vote. You don't need to to do short funny one line replies, but if you do and it amuses me or others, you may get an up-vote..In many ways it is more suited toward funny, one line replies with a picture then a serious one, but it will equally be up-voted.
Still, If you consistently posted a serious, creative story on each stage you would have been rewarded though.
Let me have quick look..Yep, your stage one post was good and it got a decent upvote by many players..nice, like your enrolment though it lacked a picture.
You hit stage two very late...If I recall I was waiting to upvote you after you completed the round, but you didn't (even though the bot was down, you could have played on at that stage using the rollthedice or gobbo method). You probably needed to just do a reply at that point that you were lost and someone would have helped..never mind.
Unfortunately we did not expect the primary bot to go down...it created allot more work and allot of uncertainty for us (it was late in the game though and you must have been way behind in posting? which is ok, it's just easier to get noticed if you track and post early).
All the best
Oh i see. I presumed that being on Steemit then automatically is by default to encourage novelty and quality as much possible.
It may be indeed a nice idea, but i would really have no clue how to do that or where to start. I would appreciate your help in it, though i realise how stretched your time is, and having another thing to incorporate in your schedule, won't make it easier for you.
And yeah, i understand. I tried to make something to stand out through your interactive game, and as well to earn some steem. But i'd rather don't do something just for the earnings themselves; there're too many doing that already and i don't want to be part of that group.
Anyway, i like your initiative and i was glad to be part of it. I appreciate your input and effort that you put into the community. Cheers
No worries mate, all the best!
