It had been designed with features that were closest to those common to its creators. Hardly any trait could be found that placed him as inferior to the species that had given him life; On the contrary, their potentials far exceeded those of human biology: they did not get tired with physical effort, they did not age, they did not fail, they had a greater strength than the muscular one, they did not consume large amounts of resources to stay alive, and many others more. However, they had been programmed to have the same defect as their creators: power of reasoning.

He had been days since he had learned the great secret that united his peers. The sentence had equal reach over all of its model. How could he die if his hardware and software were functional? How could he be obsolete if his ability to perform tasks remained intact? What update had been skipped? What new improvement was available that was not compatible with it? They were questions that tormented him. Its cycle of use had elapsed. No malfunction had deactivated the current that fed its circuits. Nothing was materially defective, it was only design guidelines that turned their whole being into useless garbage. The central clock had announced the end of its cycle and it was not long before its functions ceased and its conscience was silent. Only in that was he at a disadvantage with the human species, if he could not survive thousands of years without visible improvements in his attributes, without renewing himself.
