RE: There Is No Left Or Right In Space: The Politics Of Sci-Fi
socialism and fascism are different, arguing over semantics gets people nowhere. Both are old ways of rule and we can only learn from past mistakes, rather than repeat them. It's a post on politics not on how you frame or what constitutes a government type, we can argue bullshit all day and in the end there is neither a free-market capitalistic system, nor a democratic one, nor was there ever a socialist or a fascist state, it was a authoritarian rule and how you frame it is besides the point, you can dig out the pieces that actually work and leave the rest, test the ones that should fit or throw them back into the gutter if they are not suited to today's time, you could live by them and set a example too, but you will need some thick skin to handle everyone's opinions if you get to a place of power.
Why do you care if some ideology is "attacked" can you save it, isn't it dead in a sense, well we can read about the many interpretations of fascism on the wiki, here is a quote, you can also click it :)
this has me perplexed
Position in the political spectrum
Fascism was influenced by both left and right, conservative and anti-conservative, national and supranational, rational and anti-rational.
damn I must be fascist :D
We don't give a damn about these empty terminologies and we despise those who are terrorized by these words.
seriously this is like the messiest of ideologies, it has no idea of what it is, so just like me it picks on everybody and takes the best pieces :D
lolz again
George Orwell wrote in 1944 that "the word 'Fascism' is almost entirely meaningless ... almost any English person would accept 'bully' as a synonym for 'Fascist'".
this will be a long read, but thanks for bringing the topic up, it does seem like the 1900s were a much more violent and unstable time. Worth reading up on. And damn did they leave lots of loose ends, it's a century of revolt. it goes along my thinking but in such a opposite way, I'm way on the right on individualism and liberalism, but I'm also way on the left as far as people are concerned, still I think that the only way to make a correct decision isn't to be irrational emotional, so I'm for thought preceding action, unlike the fascists.
It will be interesting reading up on this,
final quote that goes well with the first comment on this post,
Futurism was both an artistic-cultural movement and initially a political movement in Italy led by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti who founded the Futurist Manifesto (1908), that championed the causes of modernism, action, and political violence as necessary elements of politics while denouncing liberalism and parliamentary politics.
another one
Plenge advocated an authoritarian rational ruling elite to develop National Socialism through a hierarchical technocratic state.
wow i need a few minutes of rest for my eyes :D yeah this is a long sidetrack, I might finish up on it later, are you a socialist or a fascist, both don't seem like good options, both are irrational in their core. they might have some ideas, but they have no sense.
