Where should you look?

Many SEO agencies often find their writers from freelance pages or groups on various social media platforms. If you have a quick need and are not looking for a long-term writer, then go with that option. But if you need someone who will write up content for your scheduled needs on time, where can you look?

I decided to look to my left and right.

In my circle, there are many AP level students want steady employment that can fit around their schedule. High-level students can push out excellent content, and you can provide them a steady income from which they can launch their future endeavors.

One writer I hired, only a few years younger than me, decided he wanted to leave his stuffy cubical job for something that allowed the "office" to go with him. I heard about him while chatting with a colleague, so I reached out...and he has been an excellent content writer.

These are only two examples of how I found content writers "just next door" without having to pick out a stranger and bet on them to not leave you in the infamous last minute lurch. Here are a few suggestions to find content writers in your backyard:

• High school and college students.
• Young adults who want a flexible lifestyle.
• People in the middle of a career change.
• If you want to go with a more philanthropic approach; hire and train the down and out in your community, recovered drug addicts, and maybe even ex-convicts who won't have many job opportunities.
