prologue

I’m [un]orthodox. So naturally at times I tend to do things differently - than most. Even though I’m usually aware of the proper way that something should be done - for the most part.

With current bleed out of the crypto currency market it seemed like a good time to buy. I didn’t make all the moves that I wanted - but shyte happens.

the jersey shore

This past weekend I went down the shore with a bunch of friends to celebrate a birthday (not mine) which had just passed. Or that was our excuse to just hang out and have some fun.

We got in late Friday night, perfect timing to take a walk to the beach to do some star (and planet) gazing. I only brought my phone so the photos are limited and mediocre at best.

After we froze our asses off we walked back to the house - and ended just chilling and shooting the shit* for the rest of the night and early morning.

We decided to open up some wine at around 2am, after most of us were falling -or already had fallen- asleep.

[Day Two], Day One, Night Two and Saint Patrick

I don’t think we slept for more than 3-4 hours -but after quick showers- we walked a few hundred meters, to the town’s classic pancake house, for breakfast.

Directly after we got in our cars and drove around a bit looking for ingredients for our next meal. Food is important. The last supper was prepared by half the crew while the other half went for a walk on the beach (half is used with poetic license). I helped prepare the tzatziki sauce - most of the food was actually made by the others of the half.

After a couple of crew members had departed and a short food coma, we decided to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. Which usually means excessive drinking, and false interpretation and expression of Irish culture. Much like how Easter or Valentine’s Day get misconstrued and celebrated in the US.

Our version was to go to the local liquor store, stock up in some back-up booze, then head to the local bar to check out the sitch.

At the bar, we positive scoping, we decided to stay and were seated at a back table in a cozy corner. Across from a few old ladies that were having way more fun that we seemed to be having.

We all ordered Guinness’s - except for one - who chose a birch beer

Stout:

adjective - 1. (of a person) somewhat fat or of heavy build. 2. (of an act, quality, or person) brave and determined.
noun - 1. a kind of strong, dark beer brewed with roasted malt or barley.

So this is a very common beer that most people know. The classic Guinness stout. We should also all know by now that I like me a Guinness. It was my breakfast of choice when in its native Ireland, as mentioned in my Day One Seven Day Beer Challenge post.

I love this [type of] beer because it’s as if you’re eating a meal, but it’s surprisingly [and relatively] light - both calorically and alcoholically. It’s smooth, thick and creamy. With a bit of a rich tartness to it as well. I won’t pretend to be a beer expert, as also mentioned in my “Day One” post, but I know what I like. And I like this beer.
