You Miss 100% of the Shots You Never Take
The title is a famous quote by the Canadian hockey God Wayne Gretzky.
Sports taught me so much growing up. I learned how to compete and succeed, I also learned how to lose and be a sportsman about it.
Sports taught me dedication, teamwork, sacrifice and persistence. Growing up I learned so much more than how to hit a baseball or shoot a puck, I learned life lessons that went far beyond my childhood development and i still draw from today in adult life.
I may have not made it to the pinnacle of being a professional athlete but I had an incredible amount of fun and learned alot about myself along the way.
Professional athletes sometimes get labelled as "jocks" or "meatheads" but few know how hard they've worked to get to where there are today.
Before the multimillion dollar contracts these individuals put in thousands of hours training, working out and pushing themselves to the limits mentally and physically. Many times they've failed, but the great ones pick themselves up and refocus, train harder or practice more to be the best at whatever discipline they're in to get to the top. Once there, they're finally able to reap the rewards that come with success. They've earned it.
I thought I'd share some of my favorite sports quotes. I find for me alot of the most inspirational quotes come from athletes because I can relate to them easier. I hope you enjoy..
