FEMINISM IS NOT WOMEN TRYING TO RISE ABOVE MEN! ๐๐๐
With my first blog on feminism, I learnt a lot from the reactions I got from friends.
I came to understand that various people have various perceptions about the whole concept.
I'm promoting feminism not because I view it as an avenue for women to rise above men, neither do I support any part where women are given special treatments in the society due to their delicate nature.
I believe in that aspect of feminism where women work hard and achieve their rights on merit without any form of discrimination nor being termed as the weaker vessel.
I view a society where women are not subjected to inhuman treatments of any kind, both domestically, and in the society at large but rather are given a place to sit and dine with the king makers without segregation.
The society I come from, every man needs a woman as an asset and not a liability, a woman with self worth, strong, virtous and hardworking.
Gone are the days when women stayed at home as house wives and do nothing.
Those were the days when the right of women were being utilized on their behalf by the society.
However, I believe in personal utilization of individual right.
My ideology on feminism may not tally with the general practice known to the world!
But my watch word is the protection of women's right and a platform for their voices to be heard.

Every woman and man should be a feminist. Equality is a human ideal. If we stick together, we can argue for all humanity to be equal. Classless, gender equal and building a society that thinks nothing of helping those that have nothing to become something.

@favoursampson, I have a strong, lovely wife. I want my daughters to be just like her.
She feels that her most important duty is to be at home. But she does not just sit there and do nothing. She makes our house a home. She keeps everyone held together like glue. She homeschool our children.
She is a super woman. She is my hero!

I always say I am born feminist, its nt what I learnt its who I am,fighting for equality ,so my daughters and their daughters can have a better society to inhibit.I am a woman and I have a right to do whatever I want,without anyone trying to 'calm me down' because I ought to be ambitionless and thinking of becoming wife material, I speak against such!!

I agree with your view on feminism. So many people basically resort to the idea that women need "special treatment" to advance. That's not true as you've said. We simple need & deserve EQUAL treatment & opportunities.

Yes! Loved reading this, and I absolutely agree!! Feminism is about closing the gap. Putting us all on the same playing field. Giving women the same choice as men, rather than an expectation. I think most people are feminists at heart, they just don't realize it and are avoiding the label because of a few bad apples. Lets put semantics behind us and work to uplift women to the same level as men!

I think we need a complete write up on what feminism is and what it is not. I see a lot of women everyday we thinks and act feminism has empower them to take the place of men. That is why many of them remain single.
Those women got it all wrong. They need to know that feminism doesn't place them above men neither does it create an avenue for them to replace me either.
