"Berceuse" - Chapter IV

A sweet sound could be heard coming from Berceuse’s entrance. Singing, while not an uncommon thing in these lands, very few times attracted so many looks, but, was it because of its beauty, or was it the very real chance that the newcomer followed the same doomed fate of so many others?. That young man kept playing and throwing sweet verses while walking, and the citizens were betting how much he would last.
From an alleyway, closer with every second, Loretta came out with a basket filled with things her house lacked, and distracted with her own thoughts, the mellow sound that had entered the city came to her ears as a stealthy invader. Time and space stopped for an eternal instant, and the notes that entered her mind went straight to fill her heart.
And when the clocks moved again, two sets of eyes would find each other.
