June 30 Days Writing Challenge - Life Hacks - Day Six: Put It In Front Of The Door
Hello and welcome to the sixth day of the June 30 days writing challenge. If you want to know all the details about this specific challenge, have a look at the introductory post. In short, I will be posting every day a short tip, or technique, or opinion, something that you can call a "life hack". Feel free to join the challenge and post your own life hacks. I will do my best to upvote each day at full strength (about $3 at the current STEEM price) 3 posts tagged #challenge30days (leaving a link to your posts in the comments will also help).
Put It In Front Of The Door
I consider myself a person with a relatively good memory. And yet, there are times when I forget even the simplest things. Not many times, but there are. Or, to be more precise, I should say: there were times when I was forgetting even the simplest things, because I'm rarely forgetting stuff anymore.
The most frequent situation in which I was forgetting stuff was in the morning. You know the drill: you have to take something, a piece of paper, the phone charger, or whatever, and, just when you're about to enter the office you realize you forgot it. Oh, the frustration! The clear image of that thing in your head, you even remember the place where you put it in your house, just that thing is not with you now, because, in the rush of the morning, you forgot about it.
So, one of the simplest, yet most effective life-hacks ever is to put the damn thing in front of the door, the evening before. If you know you have to take something with you in the morning, or do something important, don't write a note in your todo list, just put that thing in front of the door, or write it down on a post it and put the post it on the door. You won't miss it, I guarantee.
It may seem like a quick and dirty hack, created to solve a very specific problem. But if you do it consistently, if you create the habit of putting things in your way, so you simply can't avoid them in your future paths, something interesting will happen: you will become more proactive, more relaxed and less stressed. At least that's what happened to me since I started to use this, more than ten years ago.
I'm really curious to read about your life hack today. Leave a comment with a link to your post, if possible.

I usually do this. I also have to remember to put everything in front of the door. lol
Hahaha, I do this all the time. Really works!
Haha thanks for this hack, i have a friend who will forget something even when the thing is in his face
Me too! I even move the thing out of my way so I can get out the door!
Sometimes I do forget even when the thing blocks my way.
lol, that is epic!
Good one, I'll have to tell my wife :)
This life hack works for my mom. She prepares for the next day at night.
I live in a two-level house and do the same when I remember I need to bring something upstairs. Just leave it in the middle of the stairs and I never forget to pick it up :)
Agree with you! It's simply clear but it works!
When I studied at university there were some times when I forgot my reports or home works. It was awfully because my teacher gave me a bad marks.
So after it I began to prepare all what i need at the evening and then I put it on the table near my door.
And now if I know that I'll need to take something important one I put it in bag and before exiting to work ar to trip I don't worry that I forgot something important at home! I just take my bag and go to work.
It happens to everyone in the morning, specially when you wake up late and you some important work.
Haha. Lol
I will have to try this ASAP.
Great challenge and I will try to attend this challenge.
