The Power of Music

I have always loved music, I love to dance to it, sing alone with it, and even create my own music. My Mother loves to sing and play the piano. Each day after school we would sit doing our homework, and listen to the sweet songs coming through the passage, as my Mother tickled the keys.

Music affects the soul, the brain, and even our mood. The different types of music stimulate different areas of the brain. Even the tone and volume can have an influence in how music can affect you. I tried an experiment, I would listen to my brother’s music and write down how I felt from this experience: “I now completely understand how my brother’s moods work, and why he can change his mood.”

My brother has a few songs he always listens to. These songs give a very distinct mood, that I can’t even control. After listening through many of the songs he has, I found out how he controls his mood, just by listening to music.

I believe the power of music has an influence in my life. This simple experiment I went through just made my belief even stronger. I now use music every day of my life, whether doing work or just relaxing.

I now understand why my Mother played piano while we did our homework. It stimulates areas of our brain that benefits our learning and remembering. I have used music recently to help me with my mood. Especially when I was sad or not feeling to great. I even used music while writing this essay.
