Weekend Freewrite Single Prompt: Monkey's Wedding
Living in this town provides me some strange sights.
These days, everyone seems to be able to marry anyone who will marry them.
But still, a bridal party of monkeys rolling by was a little more than I expected.
They were all dressed to the nines in their tuxedos and dresses – the maids of honor, the best man and groomsmen and such, on their way to a zoo exhibit made up to resemble a chapel, albeit with a roof great for swinging on. The limousines disgorged all kinds of primate guests, the orangutans looking especially striking in their black suits.
The event was being catered; enough bananas and peanuts for such an auspicious occasion.
The only human around was a zookeeper, so I went over to ask him what was going on.
“Well, the bride is on her way. She loved a monkey's uncle, and soon she'll be the monkey's aunt...”
