This fish flatfish in Acehnese language is called by the name of Siblah fish.

The science of fisheries in Aceh has long been developed. relatively new with the support of modern science. Lately the science of fisheries is much studied considering the fish is one of the important resources. Before we discuss further the meaning of ikhtiologi, should be known about "What Is a Fish?".

Fish is one type of vertebrate animal that is poikilotermis, has characteristics in the spine, gills and fins and is dependent on water as a medium for life. Fish have the ability in the water to move with the fins to maintain the balance of the body so it does not depend on the flow or movement of water caused by wind direction.

Theoretically the experts estimate there are about twenty thousand to forty thousand species that inhabit the surface of this earth, and four thousand of them inhabit Indonesian waters both sea, brackish and freshwater. The number of fish species recorded in the Riau region is estimated to reach three hundred species of fish. Of these, one species to another certainly has some similarities and identification, which can basically be used as a basis for classification (Manda et al, 2005).

The scales line has 110-114 scales, on it 15 scales and black spots on the body.

If we look more closely it turns out the fish body shape can be used to guess the way of life of the fish. A typical body shape that belongs to fast swimmer fish such as Scombridae family and can be inferred habitat unit determines body shape, way of life and movement.
