The Froth

….. He was a sparkle that ignited the era of responsibility for our being and our society; for what we build and feel here on earth in this universe but mainly for the infinite worlds that reveal and spread somewhere else, wherever we create them, in the land and time of dreams. (closing of “The Seeders”)

He was growing old, withdrawn from the spotlights. Society was evolving and creating new worlds. Humans, having found a vision for their lives, were putting their efforts on becoming better, helping, connecting, and understanding. Science became more anthropocentric. He was smiling from the backstage, while his fame was replaced by the names of the new generation of innovators in his field. He was living in the suburbs of the city trying to focus on his hobbies, to live a simple good life, to let his mind and soul to wonder by easy wandering and flowing into the wave of life.

There were moments though that attracted his attention. Small everyday events that created questions and waked up his research interest because they were incomprehensible. Events that happened in a no-causal sequence, when he was not thinking or could not link the facts. He was talking with some friends on his hobby of bird-watching and the hoopoes that live in the suburbs but he had never seen when all of a sudden a bird of the kind was landed on the plane tree in front of him. During the course of a week, when his eye unintentionally went to digital clocks or car labels, the numbers in front of him were symmetrical or two-digits repeating themselves; which didn’t happen when he consciously and intentionally looked at numbers to find such patterns.

He read about synchronicity, about semiotics, about law of truly large numbers and many other theories or possible explanations of his experiences. But he was coming from the field of dreams and he tended to see it all through the light of his earlier studies. Thus, he started a new mind journey to understand the phenomena.

He was living in a world limited by natural laws and insurmountable structures, like the gravity or the three-dimensional space. But in the dream's worlds that were based on the real life structures some of those rules didn’t exist. He could fly, or he could instantly move to a new environment. The awareness of the abolishment of the laws and rules and the paradox that he had to confront in the dream was not always obvious. In some cases the peculiarity of the situation appeared as normal while in other cases he became conscious of the phenomenon in the dream and knew he was dreaming. At those moments he knew that his real self was somewhere else, and the character in the dream was an alien to that world and could change rules and reality at will. The evolution of the dream’s worlds structuring had led also to advancement of the technics of getting awareness while dreaming; techniques to be practiced while awake and repeat when dreaming as tools to induce consciousness of the real alien nature of the character in the dream.

In his newer study he assigned the code L(0) to real life considering it as the reference level to start with. The dream’s worlds were assigned code L(1) reflecting the immediate next level of reality and the worlds that we create during our sleep. Going the other side of the ladder of levels he assigned a L(-1) to a hypothetical world or mind for which our life would be its dream-land. He then tried to project the connection and all the relevant – awareness in the dream, tools to get into the state of awareness, etc. – between L(0) and L(1), to the other pair of realities; L(-1) and L(0). Assumptions and questions and theories started to spring up…

What if all those no-causal coincidences, the unconscious realization of patterns, the illogical miracles that appear to our level of L(0) reality are just practiced tools of intelligence of L(-1) reality? What if our real higher self is sleeping and becomes consciousness in his dream and provides all those signs to his asleep self? When does his dream end and what happens to our reality at that moment? Is our whole reality the dream of one intelligence or is it knitted by more intelligences of that higher level?

He tried to imagine tools like the application he had built when he was young, to experiment and prove his new ideas. He had no luck with it. He tried at a personal level to train himself to identify the signs of that higher level of reality he suspected that was out there. The harder he tried in a conscious way to understand and move forward with his thoughts, the easier the signs were disappearing. He tried to free his spirit through meditation and acquire some knowledge from that, beyond his reach, pool of truth.

He gained a lot of things through all his efforts and ideas and practices but didn’t manage to get to the end. This theory could not be revealed to the rest of Humanity. It might distracted them from the project they had. It would for sure make them feel humbler and more insignificant. Humans were probably living in a single one bubble of the froth of consciousness; tiny parts in a non-material Cosmos flourishing in unconceivable dimensions around us. He returned to his hobbies, in bird feeding and watching, waiting to have a peaceful awakening when his time came.

Blessed be our limits, because these make us humans. Blessed be our thinking and our faith because these keep our bubble intact.

Not too certain I agree there should be limits on our imagination - but you transferred it to the real world and the conclusions of the narrator make sense.
