The Dream of a Minnow

in #writing7 years ago

Yesterday I dreamed... I was a sleeping minnow. I... the minnow was dreaming...

I started swimming towards the beach and I had a wish to go out and stand on two feet. So I did, and found myself walking out of the water, becoming bigger and standing on the pebbles of the seashore. The water was still and its surface with neither waves nor any ripples...instead like a mirror in front of me. The sky was moody and a sense of humidity was spread in the air.

My vision was perfect and I could see as like zooming to the farthest areas of the sea. I saw a complex of small islands far away... but they were not actually... they were the backs of big whales resting at the top of the water; whistling-talking a slow song that fit the stillness of everything around. Some fish mouths were opening and closing near the surface, trying to breath out of the water. Bubbles were coming up here and there.

I looked down to the sea and saw the seafloor so clearly. It has been built with so much variety. Corals in some places like jewels, simple shining sand decorated with scattered rocks in some other.

I felt choking and stressed. I felt that waves would fit the lake better than stillness... how did lake came out I do not know... I started blowing with all my power but no wind at all. I stopped and look around. The pebbles were there to help. I grasped some of them and throw them in the water; some ripples and then stillness again. I got a big stone, hold it above my head and threw it with all my strength. A wave that didn't last; only a new rocky contribution to the seabed. Discouraged as I was sat down and started stone skipping in the water... THAT was it! Flat pebbles to change the surface! One throw to bounce off many times and wake-up the water.

I saw the pebble in my hand; and my hand was getting bigger! Or was it that the pebble was getting smaller...? I thought I had no time, all pebbles were becoming smaller and smaller.

My first throw was on and in the water.
The following hit some minnows close to the surface and they responded... they moved and swam and flapped their tails on the water; and then they went on trying to escape the suffocate.
Some dolphins' dorsal fins were skipping the water as if they understood that something had to be done, as if they were sclupturing the surface.
The last ones were targeted to the bored whales. Small pebbles travelled like flying fishes to all directions fast and willing; the living islands were reached and by a small part of the land were hit. One blew some water up into the air, another looked right and left. Then silence again, the same picture as when out I came.

The pebbles were shrunk into sand beads,
and it was time for me to leave the beach...
I bent the legs and made a leap,
I found myself swinging above the sea,
Blockchain sculptured on seafloor,
Steemit expects the effort of us all,
I woke up and didn't see...
My leap, was it a dive or a flee....?

Life is an experiment... :)
Sometimes chemistry gives out magical colors some others boom !
(In my next experiment I may ask for your help... ;) )

Quite the writing there. I think there are lots of stones to be thrown.
In some cases it might take icebergs on the heads of the whales
for them to move. But they will.

This great writing.....I appreciate your dream.
