The hard working employees are the saving grace for the big banks and the little people.

My post from 13 days ago source was written when feeling a degree of angst with the bank's policies and decision making. The cold hard fact is the 'big wigs' are into profits rather than the hard working customers. But we all know this, right?

I am relieved to say that our current saga with the Commonwealth Bank actually has a happy ending thanks to a worker in our local branch who with great efficiency organised another travelling credit card and successfully retrieved our money on the expired 'Travel Money Credit Card. It seems that the bank has an 'unclaimed money' box and this is where our money went unbeknown to us.

A form was filled in and the money magically appeared in our account after 18 months. To think that the bank used it all that time!

I wonder how many unsuspecting bank customers are unaware of this little profitable loophole of the bank? Yes, it is making ongoing profits by investing this money. it is effectively using other people's money without permission and there are no official letters being sent to customers. It is very wrong from my perspective.

Even though in the 'eleventh hour' a special travelling gold credit card has not arrived yet, the worker is arranging a fair alternative just in case it does not tomorrow. Maybe the delay is not due to the lack of bank efficiency but instead is due to slow postal deliveries.

However, this is the odd time when the faith of the little customer is restored in the big financial bank. The few staff working in bank branches know how to stroke their feathers as they lend a helping hand to find solutions to problems. It is a nice feeling to be looked after!
