RE: If I Could Only Give You One Tip on Steemit, Here's What It Would Be, You Won't Believe How Simple it is!
I found you by @kiwideb mentioning you in a post. I love this concept. If you're pretending to be something you're not to make a buck, you'll probably give up before you get the the point of making a buck. Artists sometimes ask me what type of art they should do to sell the best. But that's not how it works. Paint what you enjoy painting and talking about and sharing with people! I also say it's better to paint 100 imperfect paintings in a year than to spend a year trying to make one painting perfect. You get better at doing by doing, not by thinking about doing. Almost all plans will change once put into action as different unknown variables present themselves.
AH! @Kiwideb, one of my most loyal fans. Be yourself, the only other thing you can be is a cheap imitation of someone else! And there are ONLY imperfect paintings, that's what makes them beautiful, by the way. I say this as someone who stood in front of the Mona Lisa for half an hour just six months ago. It's beauty is in the imperfection.
Lots of artists fuss with one piece making correction after correction until it drives them insane lol Better to just finish one, move on, and make another one and slowly you'll get better that way instead of fussing around with one until you want to burn it lol I've never seen the Mona Lisa in person, but portraits are not my cup of tea anyway, I tend to prefer bright colorful abstract and visionary art.
