We can use Varnish Spray, it will not only protect it but will also maintain its Shine.
But all these things will spoil it's organic effects.
Before starting drawing, you can soak a dry leaf of a tree with linseed oil and dry it well. For the oil to polymerize. You will get a solid basis for the drawing.

When I was in school, we would preserve leaves by ironing them between two sheets of wax paper.
And we just put it in the books between the pages. This is how we did the herbarium :-)
