Europe Qualification Rankings FIFA World Cup 2018
Germany won every match with a goal differential of +39 over 10 games in the final group stage of qualification. Belgium was close behind with 9 victories, 1 tie, and a goal differential of +37. Spain and Portugal are clear contenders for the World Cup championship, but the rest of Europe is a bit muddled. England was undefeated in qualification and hopes to bring their hot streak to Russia. Poland, Switzerland, and Italy had a strong showing in qualification, but the latter is out of the tournament after finishing 2nd in their group to Spain and losing a playoff against Sweden. Iceland is showing their face for the first time after winning their group and will be the smallest nation ever to play in the World Cup.
