STADIUM - ROSTOV ARENA - FIFA WORLDCUP RUSSIA - 2018

The endless steppe of the Don River basin, known since the time of Herodotus as the land of the warlike Scythians, ended up becoming the birthplace of Cossacks, lovers of freedom. The striking Cossack culture is still very much present in Rostov-on-Don, a modern city with a million inhabitants overlooking the beautiful Don River. The town of "Starocherkasskaya", located 27 kilometers from Rostov-on-Don, is the former capital of the Don Cossacks. It is currently a museum city, and one of the main tourist attractions in the area.

La llamativa cultura cosaca sigue estando muy presente en Rostov del Don, una ciudad moderna de un millón de habitantes con vistas al hermoso río Don. La localidad de “Starocherkasskaya”, situada a 27 kilómetros de Rostov del Don, es la antigua capital de los Cosacos del Don. Actualmente es una ciudad museo, y una de las principales atracciones turísticas de la zona.

Despite its extensive history, the appearance of Rostov-on-Don is that of a young and modern city. Its streets have names as romantic as Harmonious, Creative and Lucky and, in them, one can find monuments of the most unusual; like those dedicated to the spout of a fountain, or to a newspaper reader.

A pesar de su extensa historia, la apariencia de Rostov del Don es la de una ciudad joven y moderna. Sus calles tienen nombres tan románticos como Armoniosa, Creativa y Afortunada y, en ellas, uno puede encontrar monumentos de lo más inusual; como los dedicados al caño de una fuente, o a un lector de periódicos.

Thanks to the river Don, the city enjoys quiet and picturesque sandy beaches, as well as a unique cuisine, with tasty dishes of fish and crab. Rostov-on-Don is located about a thousand kilometers southeast of Moscow, and is an important cultural and transport center in southern Russia.

Gracias al río Don, la ciudad goza de tranquilas y pintorescas playas de arena, así como de una cocina única, con sabrosos platos de pescado y de cangrejo. Rostov del Don está situada a unos mil kilómetros al sureste de Moscú, y es un importante centro cultural y de transportes del sur de Rusia.

El Rostov Arena es un estadio nuevo que se construyó para el Mundial en un majestuoso paisaje a orillas del río Don. Después del torneo pasará a ser la cancha del equipo local Rostov, que compite en la primera división rusa.

En el estadio se jugarán cuatro partidos de la fase de grupos y un encuentro de octavos de final.

The Rostov Arena is a new stadium that was built for the World Cup in a majestic landscape on the banks of the Don River. After the tournament it will become the home court of the local team Rostov, which competes in the Russian first division.

In the stadium there will be played four games of the group stage and an eighth-finals match.
