City and Streets - Imprinted by LightCaptured

in WORLD OF XPILARlast year

When something happens in my life, especially something that is not "colorful" at all, I am trying to compensate by looking to add more color.

Yeah, adding more colors into it feels better. I guess some will say, sharing some city life pictures from Rome, Italy won't improve the daily routines or the quality of life. They may be right but still, we don't know what tomorrow will bring.

But then, hey, why keep those sweet moments and places, that took my attention, only to myself.

I can't know for sure but I hope one of these will make someone's day a bit better.

Now join me in enjoying the beauty of Rome and its people...

Just yesterday late at night I was going through one of my photo albums and I have to admit that apparently this is my way of feeling better. I don't know if I can influence anyone else, but definitely the memories of the beautiful places (in this case it was an album from the Bulgarian coast, which I'm not sure when I'll be able to visit again) that I've ever visited, somehow change things.
Yes, nothing is certain about tomorrow. The only thing we can be sure of are our memories. Especially the pictorial ones.
I perceive photographs as a means of documenting and archiving memories. It is true that they occupy quite a large space of memory - computer and external one. But they are often impossibly huge for the brain's memory, so they need to be stored in an additional material and technical place.🤭
(I think there is no need to comment on your wonderful photos.😊)

Sharing something beautiful adds beauty to our environment, I think. Too much negative stuff is poured onto us, on a daily basis, don't you think? ;)
Thank you :)
Photography is just that - a personal time-machine ;)

 last year

Ha! That's very interesting of you to say :)
I usually increase the Clarity a lot (in Lightroom). I only decrease it when it is portrait photography.
Probably in this series, it is because of the camera, it is the smaller mirrorless Canon M5, it produces a bit softer pictures and if I do to much post-processing, there are lots of artefacts and noise.
I have to say, I don't like HDR look-a-like, I always try to find the perfect balance, of course, to my taste :)
Thank you!

image.png

Ah, I see :)
Usually I don't touch the texture, well, let's say in 95% of the photos I edit.
The photos I post-process for stock, Clarity is set to +50 and for landscapes I also push the Dehaze to +20 to +50 depending on the haze present.
But for portraits, especially female ones, I often do negative Clarity values ;)
Hope that makes sense.
The problem with modern digital cameras is that unless I shoot in RAW (I do that 99%) the camera applies some editing, sometimes heavy, depending on the settings - the metering, the mode, etc., you know. With phone cameras this is extreme and all the images are heavily processed and what's even strange to me, there aren't many phones that provide shooting in RAW. My current one doesn't do that but my previous one did. I guess a matter of price, after all. File sizes are huge, that too so most people will not use that feature, I suppose.

Yes :) I think once I made that experiment with female portrait and Clarity +100, most of them hated it, hehe :)

One day I'll get my hands on one of them lenses...

I would love to have this one, if they start producing for Canon mounts too: https://www.zenit.photo/en/catalog/zenitar-75mm-f-1-4-lens-he/

:)))
I see the brand new ones are already available locally, true, the price is about double the old one (here in the range of EUR 399-440) but as you say, I won't need the lens adapter ;)
I have to search online, probably there are reviews comparing the specs and photos from the new and the old ones ;)
