Employees quit work because of unhealthy relationships at work

As an HR this has been my constant observation that when people resign it is majorly because they are unhappy with their work environment. People leave for better opportunities, but the other fact of this is that they only start searching for another opportunities when they are not happy with their work place.

When there are unhealthy relationships at work place, the morale of the employee goes down, they start lacking motivation. This specially happens with their immediate supervisor, who is the biggest influencer for the employee. The team mates and the supervisor are the constant people who the person has to deal with and if there is a long standing problem here with anyone then this will drive the employee to leave the job and start looking for another opportunity.

Our work place is where we spend majority of our day time and imagine if that is unhealthy then that frustration will be brought back home and it will impact the employee's personal life as well. In one of my job, this was exactly the case. I liked to work with that company very much and my salary was also decent, but my boss was painful and he had a big hold over the whole company since he was on a very senior position, so even if I would change my department, his influence would have still been there. The only option then I had was to look for another job and quit this company.

When people are unhappy at work place, it will impact their work and the performance will drop, not only that if the problem exist for a long time then it also starts impacting emotional and mental health of the person. In my jobs as an HR when people come to me with complaints about their managers and team members, I would make an effort to resolve whatever differences they have or then advise a department change for the person, where he or she would be able to work peacefully.

A healthy work place is very important for an individual, because that not only impacts their work performance but it also impacts their personal life and their mental well being.

Totalmente! El trabajador al sentirse desmotivado en su area laboral va a plantearse la posibilidad de renunciar. El ambiente laboral es muy importante para el buen desempeño, cuando no existe, lo mejor es buscar otro trabajo.

Es terrible tener un jefe controlador porque las cosas no funcionan muy bien y crea mucho malestar.
