WORD POETRY CHALLENGE #22: CHRISTMAS.

What are these blissful colours all about?
Why are everywhere delightfully decorated with
Red, green, gold, white and blue colour?
Oh! I can see a Santa Claus too,
Definitely, its another Christmas season.

Its another time to rejoice about the birth of Christ.
A season usually garnished with a lot of delicious delicacies, and drinks.
Though it is usually celebrated during winter period,
Nevertheless, the reunion of family members, friends and relatives
caused by this festive period makes the cold season
a worm one and a season everyone wishes for.

Though Christmas is usually celebrated by both Christian and other traditions,
However, Christmas was initiated by Christ masses
to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ,
Which gave birth to the word “Christmas”,
A word which denote the time Christ masses celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Though there are several colours that can be used for decoration,
But the colours used during Christmas period are not randomly picked,
For each colour represent something significant about Jesus Christ.
Jesus was given birth to by mother Mary,
The colour blue represents how important the mother of Jesus is to Christians,
The colour gold which is the colour of sun,
is usually used to denote how glorious Jesus is,
green is used to indicate that Jesus gave us the grace to enjoy eternal life
but he end up shedding his blood to pay for our sins,
that is why red is among the colours used to celebrate him.

Though he paid for our sins,
nevertheless, he prayed for peace and unity before he died.
Which made the use of white colour a necessity,
in other to denote the peace and unity he prayed for.
The combination of these colours gave Christmas period blissful atmosphere,
Which everyone want to witness.
