It’s like waking up,
In the Christmas morning
Although it is still May
And the scorching heat not leaving
It’s like getting a surprise present
Of brownies and cookies
And a hug engulfs me
Like a hot chocolate
On a rainy day
It’s like getting to laugh and cry
At the same time
Doing your quirks
Without care of the world
Without fear of judgment
Or fear of harsh comments
From people who can see
And the scorching heat not leaving
Although it is still May
In the Christmas morning

At home.
