50th Anniversary gift
Hi everyone,
My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary in October.
I picked up a golden anniversary spoon and knife set for them (gold plated of course), but it came in just a simple cardboard box. That wasn't good enough, so I picked up a nice piece of poplar and got to work.
Cutting, gluing, clamping, and eventually it looked like a box.
Then I recessed two magnets into the lid and some finishing nails into the box, this is a neat way to hold a lid on.
A couple of coats of clear poly and viola
I used the middle part from the original packaging to hold the spoon and knife

Thats extra special that you are able to make a nice box to put them in, wow 50 years, hope they have a wonderful day. My parents have just celebrated their 42nd anniversary which is odd as im 43! Hmmm.
