Rustic Bar Build

Hello Steem! Im working on an interesting project this week and wanted to share. Some friends of mine asked me to build them a bar for their downstairs game room. After drawing up a rough plan, and getting custom lumber milled, we got started. They decided to go with a "L" shaped bar with a sink on one side, and a mini fridge and ice maker on the other.

I had my brother who has a band saw mill cut me some nice cedar 6x6 posts for the uprights. In between these I framed it up with 2x2's, giving me something to nail the face boards to, as well as a way to secure the bar to the floor.

The home owners had some old 1x12 from the demolition of part of their homes remodel, so we used that for the face of the bar. A few of the boards had some metal nailed to them, and the owner asked me to incorporate those pieces into the bar. I ripped the 1x12 down to 5.5 inches and stared laying them out at a 45 degree angle. The reclaimed wood was old and beat up, giving the bar a nice rustic look.

A four inch thick blue stained slab will sit on top of the 6x6's, and the back of the bar will be tiled.

Today I built the sink cabinet and door with the reclaimed wood. There will also be a pine slab shelf behind the bar, under the window. Thanks for looking, I will post more once the job is complete.
