Swisswitness is Alive!

What a fantastic day and a huge coincidence that it takes place on the day that the Netherlands 🇳🇱 is celebrating its liberation from German occupancy in World War 2!

Today my friends and I can finally reveal a project that we’ve been working on for a long time. We are now running our own witness, a simple and memorable name: @swisswitness 🇨🇭 - the neutral witness who'll be fighting for you!

You guys must be thinking ... "are they crazy, why does steem need another witness?"

Well we want to make a difference and be different. First of all, who is we, well we are 3 friends and colleagues who are living and working in Switzerland. You all know me already and what I do, but let me introduce my friends to you in case you're not following them yet:

@sirwries

@sirwries is Slovak 🇸🇰 and he's our technical genius and actually running our server. He's also going to set up an open source project on Github, so make sure to follow him to see how you can contribute.

@felander

@felander is originally from Belgium 🇧🇪 and is our cryto-whizzkid. @felander is very much involved in the crypto-world in Switzerland, he is one of the co-founders of @cryptoworldzug, he is a moderator for utopian and he does support for @therealwolf's @smartsteem. He's also involved in many other projects, so check out his profile!

What sets us apart?

There are many witnesses out there and you have many reasons to vote for them, so why would you vote for us.

• Many witnesses are hosting on privex and there's a bit of a centralization happening over there. Privex offer a very good service where you can pay them with steem/SBD, but nonetheless we have opted to go for a server based in Switzerland 🇨🇭
• We have chosen a machine that is made to grow along with the network, we have full confidence in the future of steem and its potential and thus we have also opted for a server that is capable of growing along with us

What will we use our account power for?

First we want to use the initial revenues to get a back-up server, this will increase our reliability and to improve your confidence in us as a reliable witness. Then we will run a full node and finally we want to run a website where you will be able to run statistics from the Steem Blockchain.

Personally, once the witness is producing more than what we need to run it, I will use my shares to give back to you guys by running more regular competitions and/or giveaways.

I believe in the strength of the community and in the future of this platform, therefor I see this as a give and take relationship, you guys give us your votes and I will give more back to you guys.
