Who are your Steem witness?
I wouldn't want to stress too much on the topic of Steem witnesses, as this has been discussed in detail on many occasions. However, I would like to share some links to write-ups done by different users about Steem witnesses.
So today, I want to make a quick announcement about Steem witnesses.
Apparently, I got this announcement from my favorite website, (steemworld.org) I visit that site at least 20 times a day..
Infact, most of my activities done there.
So this afternoon, I got a notice as you can see below:

That site is owned by @steemchiller, who is one of the top 20 witness on Steem blockchain.
The message reads:
Dear SteemWorld users,
We, the Steem Witnesses, are in the process of removing fake or dead Witnesses from the top 100 to ensure better performance and security of the Steem network and a fairer distribution of rewards between hard-working Witnesses and the development teams at the lower ranks.
You can all help speed up this operation by checking your own Witness votes. Please check the votes you have given and try to find out if the Witnesses you are currently supporting are still active or real, and if they are doing something good for Steem.
Thank you! Together we will make Steem great again!
I think this message is clear.
Call to action
Check your witness votes, get inactive Witnesses off your list.
If you are not seeing what they are doing for the community, kindly remove your votes. Don't waste it there.
Remember, each Steem user have 30 vote counts.
How to remove witness votes

You could even do it from your Steemit wallet by login in.
The same process you used to vote, you just need to log in the same format and click the voted witness to unvote.
