Recent activities on Steem - Witness update - 2018-04-28

Recently we experienced some different things in the steem blockchain. Most of the steem witnesses got troubles with producing blocks and most of seed and RPC nodes went offline. Most of the steem users had bandwidth problems and network errors in steemit.
But, why we faced these problems?
Actually, someone tried to spam on steem blockchain. After spamming on the blockchain, We noticed most of the witnesses are missing many blocks and according to that spamming. Also, block producing time increased to every ~20 seconds or more. (usually, we should produce a block every 3 seconds)
Less blocks + More latency + Big transactions = Less bandwidth
Hopefully, we fixed that problem in steem blockchain after a few hours. You can check stable branch in the Steem Github repository and version 0.19.3! Also, @someguy123 released an updated version of steem-in-a-box
After applying that update to the witness nodes everything turned to the normal state. Of course, updating some of RPC and seed nodes took more time.
Right now, everything seems good.
My witness update:
My witness node was good after that spamming event. BTW, I updated my witness node to the version 0.19.3 after release time.
I had some troubles with my public seed node and that took 2-3 days for updating and now that is online and available on: node.mahdiyari.info:2001
STEEM price:
Recently https://huobi.pro (non-ref link) exchange added Steem to their exchange (Check minimum withdrawals and fees before trading) and that was a good news for the Steem market. After that announcement, Steem price touched 4.5 USD.
I believe we can make steem community a better place for people around the world. A world anyone can earn money and a world without hungry people. It depends on your beliefs.

Interesting to learn more about our recent issues, are your other projects running on the same servers? Steemauto has been having issues lately also which is concerning. I removed my vote from @pharesim after seeing he has lost more blocks than any top 30 witness, way more... I mine cryptos and have fancy hardware like a water cooled amd 32 core ryzen 1950 threadripper and more, would it be worth my time offering a mining and/or server service to a witness such as yourself? (You have had my vote and now i want to research witnesses and provide a list of who i vote for and why others should)
