Just Plain, Washington!
We are out for a mini vacation in Plain, Washington. I don't have a picture of the town, proper as we are at a friend's cabin along the Wenatchee River just north of Plain. The town itself was given the name as back in the 1800's, they put a post office in; they wanted to call the settlement something, and someone said 'just give us a plain name', so they did!
Hence, the name Plain, Washington. This is a shot looking out toward the north where we were snowshoeing today.
This shot is east towards the high trail we would normally hike but can't due to snow on the trail. A lot of that trail is greater than a 30% grade (equivalent to the Telluride Plunge) making it difficult to traverse with snow. I know it can be done, but let's just say that Grace is NOT my middle name, LOL!
They pasture some draft horses that pull sleighs here, and have an irrigation set up in the field.
It's awesome to get away from what folks call the 'dark side' also known as western Washington, and come back to Plain where it's drier and more relaxed. It's just Plain great! (pun intended)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
Nice post and photos.
Thank you!
