Oh that Paella does look wonderful @rmach curious about the wine, I have seen those porro's before but didn't know it was for drinking I thought it was for putting your azeito or vinagre in, lol woops! Also that fella does look like a pro, you need to step up your game @rmach lol.

You can find different sizes of Porró, sometimes we use it with a kind of dessert that are just "fruits secs", like walnuts, peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds, dried figs, raisins...

In this case, it is a small Porró with sweet wine called "moscatell".

Perfect for cold nights :) we also have moscatel around here but your porró is really nice.

Bom dia @rmach

The 'porró' is a nice catalan traditional way of drinking wine. The most common wine to drink with it is red wine, and usually not a "bottled" wine but a wine from wine boots. It uses to be what in catalan we say "un vi que li fot" or in spanish they say "peleón" (a "fighting" wine, a hard tasting wine with high alcoholic grade).
As you say, you need some technique to do it. When I was young my parents show me how to do it, but didn't put some wine on it, it was still water!! Nowadays its use has decrease a lot, but in little towns and mostly in the Pyrenees towns is still very common.

:) thank you for the information! I figured it should be something very traditional. This wine was very soft, not a peleón for sure. Next time I will try to use it properly! Like a pro!

Do it with a red wine, the red stains in your sweater will be a prove that you have try it, he,he!
I still have problems with the porró and usually smear my sweater or t-shirt. It's not easy at all!
Cheers!
