I don't know how it will look like in the future but right now it's more like a personal database than a proper blockchain.

Now you are speaking my language! Where I live finding Portuguese wine is difficult, which is odd as we have heavy Portuguese and Azorian populations in many cities. Last year when we visited Porto, my wife and I made it a point to bring back 8 bottles... one left now fora special evening of sipping.
Running out of wine is problematic :)
