Some Italian wines you definitely should taste.

Among many other things, there is also the wine a passion I have.

Yes, wine. Have you ever tasted a glass of red dry wine? For example, a "Chianti" from the hills of Tuscany in Italy. I can assure you it is divine. And believe me "In vino Veritas" :-)

For those that don't know what it means: well "In Vino Veritas" is a Latin phrase that means "in wine, truth", suggesting a person under the influence of alcohol is more likely to speak their hidden thoughts and desires. Unfortunately, now I'm not under a "Chianti" influence but however, there is great truth in my post.

So in this post, I wanted to bring some knowledge about some good Italian wines I have tasted so far. They are affordable (around 5 to 9 euro a bottle) and they taste so damn good.

Montepulciano D'Abruzzo.

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is one of the most widely exported wines in Italy. So I guess you may have tasted it or at least heard of it. If not you should definitely try it.

Barbera del Monferrato.

Barbera grapes are the third most-planted red grape variety in Italy. And the wine that comes out is great. Below a bottle that I plan to open next weekend.

Lambrusco di Sorbara

It is a delicious red sparkling wine. In particular, the CIV & CIV brand is the best one. It is a great wine for bread and mortadella meal.

Finally, a white wine that I like particularly

Muller Thurgau from the Dolomiti region.

An aromatic wine that you can drink with almost anything but preferably fish.

And here is some proof of my experience with those and other wines :-)

So next time you go to the supermarket to pick a bottle of wine, you already know which one to chose ;-)

In vino Veritas my friend, I'm definitely going to try these out, I personally enjoy Teran from Capodistria(not quite Italian but close) with some prosciutto the most, but you got me with the mortadella hehe great post sir

I will try the wine you advised. I hope to find it here in Italy. I know In Croatia you have the underwater winery I read of here http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/europe/croatia-winery-visit-underwater-dive-wine-edivo-vina-drace-a7790071.html I guess that one should be good though a bit expensive.

It's a Slovenian wine, but I don't think you'll find it if you live further than Venice, but yes they have really great wine! And the one you posted is also very good, I tried it in March :) we have a weekend in istria so I get to try a lot of Croatian wines as well! Give it a go, you won't regret it

I see. I thought it was Croatian. I will :-)
