I think it's time to switch to Scotland regarding my Whiskey & Music series. It's the country with the largest selection and variety of single malt whiskys. I have decided to present a Glengoyne as the first Scottish whisky (Scotch) in this series.

The Story

This 10-year-old Glengoyne got its special refinement from Sherry casks of American and European oak. In cooperation with the Glasgow School of Art, a limited packaging was created. Pictured is the motif 'Heavy Snow in Glengoyne Distillery' by John Lowrie Morrison (Jolomo), a wonderful image of the distillery in a snowy landscape. The distillery donates part of the income to the Glasgow Art School, which was partially destroyed during a fire in 2014.

As the capital of Scotland, Glasgow naturally has more to offer than fine single malt whiskeys. Here grew up musicians and artists who became world famous with their music. For this post I picked out Mark Knopfler, founding member and lead singer of Dire Straits.

Dieser 10-jährige Glengoyne bekam von Sherryfässern aus amerikanischer und europäischer Eiche seinen besonderen Feinschliff. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Glasgow School of Art wurde eine limitierte Umverpackung geschaffen. Abgebildet ist das Motiv 'Heavy Snow in Glengoyne Distillery' von John Lowrie Morrison (Jolomo), ein wundervolles Bild der Brennerei in einer Schneelandschaft. Die Brennerei spendet einen Teil des Erlöses die Kunstschule Glasgow, die 2014 bei einem Feuer teilweise zerstört wurde.

Als Hauptstadt von Schottland hat Glasgow natürlich mehr zu bieten als feine Single Malt Whiskies. Hier sind unter anderem auch Musiker aufgewachsen, die mit Ihrer Musik weltberühmt wurden. Für diesen Post habe ich mir Mark Knopfler herausgepickt, Gründungsmitglied und Leadsänger der Dire Straits.
