❗️WhatsApp IS DOWN! 🔍 The Mystery Outage
WhatsApp has stopped working amid a mystery outage.
The usually reliable app has stopped sending or receiving messages, according to multiple users.
The website Down Detector reported huge problems in northern Europe, Mexico and Brazil, with some issues elsewhere. But parts of the US didn't seem to be running into problems.
Others in affected areas appeared to be able to get online fine. There doesn't appear to be anything special about those people, or any obvious way to get online if the app isn't working.
The problems usually fix themselves reasonably quickly, with outages not often lasting for more than an hour or so.
The Facebook-owned app tends to be quite reliable, not often suffering major outages. But any problems tend to be large – the app is used by more than one billion people around the world and so any problems can affect hundreds of millions of people.
WhatsApp adds green badges for new verified accounts
Some noted that the outage came right in the middle of transfer deadline day. As revealed in an article in The Independent earlier this year, the app is at the centre of the process of buying and selling football players – though of course such deals make up only a tiny number of the people using the app at any one time.
While you're waiting for the app to come online, you might want to learn some useful WhatsApp tricks that you can put to use once it's available again.

Just checked my app and it is working just fine in Chicagoland area. All messages, voice and video calls.
I've seen messages in the past that WhatsApp will be down or they will start charging for using it but none of those ever happened.
Luckily for us there are some other options available 😎

I wonder how many people would drop it if it cost something to use??? yes there are some good options but it seems a lot of European countries have it as the main form of contact over anything else!
Agree. Free alternatives attract more people.
And I mostly use the app to communicate with my European friends.
But it also great for sending larger multimedia files which normal message app can't handle.
Chase Bank Online goes down, no one bats an eye. WhatsApp goes down and BlueOrgy loses his mind! hahaha

Last time it stopped working it took about a day to fix and it was down down globally.
I also faced such issue I wasn't able to send a message to a new WhatsApp user I wasn't able to get any ticks while my internet was working fine
Moreover the new text status update which is launched just now dosent give much of customisation feature, there are too much limited font family and font color also the background color
Think so WhatsApp has lost its time and it will become Nokia because they resist to change, I mean they change but not that quickly as required
