Whale suppression of content is very real. This could very well be you on your next post, all because a Group of Whales thinks a post is "common sense" and all should know.
So, now the whale group are deciding what is common sense for us now?
Look, I'm in crypto because of potential immutability and my choice to voice my expressions and ideas.
Today, my trust has been deceived by a few whales that think censorship based on their views is the way and only way.
This is NOT your platform, and never will be while a few that have 99% control are imposing themselves on us. They need to get this fixed, and fast.
This is what we can expect when whales simply think content is known and understood by everyone.."common sense"

Its not censorship. Its a vote, from someone heavily invested in the site.
DV was getting over-rewarded for content that's moreless a duplicate of what's already been done and heavily rewarded. The site will be overall higher value with original content - and just as there needs to be incentivization for producing original valuable content, its fair to use decentivization as feedback for people who arent adapting to the needs of the venture and attempting to perpetuate trends whose times have passed. Certain people may not like it, but in the end, its a decision that's made with the best long term interest of the community as a whole in mind.

Actually It's the opposite, his meteoric rise was because of whales. They alone have both the power to elevate and downvote everything to heaven and hell. The rest just follows, even if they don't agree with the content they sure like making money and SP rewards from curation. That makes Steemit the perfect self censored machine, if you say something out of line you face the wrath and get downvoted into oblivion.

To be fair, it wasn't all the whales. Some whales had upvoted and some had downvoted.

Instructor2121, this is exactly the concern I have for one of my posts today. If a someone objects to an open, honest, and sober discussion in good will, I could get downvoted. We shouldn't have those kinds of concerns when posting responsibly and respectfully. Hopefully it will not happen often.
