Dear Friends,

I have been on this platform for over 2 years and I have seen and observed a lot of changes. I am not a programmer, not a coder nor anyone who is remotely related to the blockchain technologies. But I do see the importance of hardforks and how it has shaped our platform over the years.

In terms of the crypto and blockchain and online space, we might even have to readjust our expectations into bi-yearly or even quarter-yearly. Our concept of time has been skewed to evolve at such a rapid pace that I believe that measuring things in terms of years are slowly going to be a thing of the past as in the space of a year, everything could change. It could be the birth of something new, the journey and rapid growth reaching new heights, the decline and lost of interest from the public and the ultimate ending if things do not change - all this can be seen in the span of a few months - all within a year and if you blink, you would miss it.

But I digress, I want to emphasize that #steemit is still so young and new and our growth to over a million users is just phenomenon and that we need to keep creating and adding value to this platform. I do believe that all of us have a role to play - developers, user apps, posting assistance, steem banking, community leaders, @ned and the all witnesses along the way and most importantly us the users of the platform.

I imagine myself on a ship interacting with each of the users on here. We have a journey to identify what our role will be on this ship. The Steem Ship - and we have the freedom to be who we want to be. An advocate, a rebel, a teacher, a hero and a villain. So many roles to play and all within the boundaries of this wonderful platform.

The Hardforks are essential as they are the changes in the rules of the game. Some are driven by the desires of the players. Some are essential to the survival of the platform and its users. Mostly it is aimed at improving the experience and environment in which we are part of. An upgrade to the ecosystem of sorts. Not all hardforks have the same impact on everyone. In the ideal world, everybody benefits and their lives and experience improves. But in reality, we have each make a corner of this platform our home and we rely on certain things to be comfortable and to grow.

One example is the reliance on bidbots which we never really needed 2 years ago. The slider was not there as well and everyone was giving 100% upvotes - how wonderful that would be in today's situation haha.. But you can see that change will always bring about some discomfort but I encourage everyone to also try and evolve with the platform and see the long term goals in which we all want achieved.

To the team, Keep Up The Good Work!

Cheers!
