Ahsan's Parents Need our Support!

in #whalepower7 years ago (edited)

This is the story of my friend Ahsan Rauf who is no longer with us. The purpose of this post is to help his old parents, their son was the only hope for them but now, there are some who are trying to keep their hopes alive. Let me share his story!

Who was Ahsan Rauf?

I met him in 2004 when I was in 12th grade, a very humble, ambitious and a type of guy who had so many dreams to fulfill. We did the Bachelor degree together and that was the time when he came in my official friend list. After completing the Bachelor degree, he went to a prestigious University in Lahore and started his MBA. As expected, he did exceptionally well and not only he topped in the class but also got scholarships for his wonderful academic record. He knew that his father had a lot of burden on his shoulder, so he always tried to make him relax and did whatever it was possible to share his father's responsibilities.

What Happened To Him?

It was his birthday night, 18th of June, 2012, after celebrating his 23rd birthday with his college friends, he was returning to his home at 12:00 AM to celebrate another party with his childhood friends and then we all got shocked after listening to an unknown call. He was hit by a trolley, to explain the extent of his injury, let me share the exact words of a person who took him to the hospital!

"When I came out of my car, I picked up his head but realized I just had one part of his head. His head was actually broken into pieces, I started crying and shouted for help!"

Doctors put him on ventilator for 10 days and after going through some brain surgeries and a lot of pain, he quit and died on December 28, 2012.

Ahsan's Parents

He was the only child of his parents and how they went through all of this is impossible for me to describe in words. However, we all friends decided to help his family, so we took two initiatives

1. Get Together. Meet his parents on every Saturday or Sunday together and have a dinner with them so that they could have a good time with their son's friends.

2. Monthly contributions. We all decided to contribute some money every month and the amount would be given to his parents. We decided to collect as much amount as we could and in the start, we received a good amount of money, however, with the passage of time, the monthly contributions started deceasing and out of 35 or 40, only 10 to 15 people are left who are consistently contributing for this cause.

How This Post Will Help His Family!

3. I will write another post next Sunday where I will show all the calculations, amount received from people and the final amount in PKR would be given to his family.

This is another heart wrenching story I came across in the past few days. So sorry for your loss and may Allah grant Ahsan a place in jannah and his parents with sabar. I'll just resteem this post; upvoted it too. Will try to be of more help too. Going through some financial troubles and collecting funds for my son's tuition fee so things are a little hard but I'll do my best. Good luck with this endeavor! And it feels good to see more people from Pakistan here.

Thanks @sharoonyasir and just went through your posts as well, one of the Pakistanis that I should must follow, creative ones and not spammers.
I pray that things get better for you and your family. Following you to keep myself updated with your posts.

Thank you so much! Did the same too- followed you yesterday :) We should connect with other Pakistanis too who are trying to make meaningful contributions here so together we can grow and make the community grow. And on spamming, it never works for me and something I'm completely appalled by. :)

Yes, I actually introduced this platform to many of my colleagues and friends and three of them have started adding their valuable contributions here. You can check their work yourself

I checked the second blog. It had just 2 posts and I find blogs with more posts on topics related to self-development or personal experiences interesting. Just checked Naveed's blog; it looks good! But definitely I'll connect with all these people :) and more too

Thank you for sharing this story with us... May his soul rest in peace.
