I have written about this several times before so I might as well do it again. Whales have a lot of steem and with this steem a ton of things could be done, some of which are currently only touched on and other things not done at all. steem like all crypto potentially has the power to change the world. Sadly the current trend to rape and abuse the reward pool has caused steem some damage, but not all is lost and we still have the power to turn this ship around and tap into the magnificent possibilities.

Let me quote a passage I wrote on the subject of steem a few months ago -

Imagine if you will a world where corporations no longer controlled the tides of human development. A world where building a moon colony was just a click away, or curing mental disorders. Imagine a world where a few geeks could come up with the best videogame ever and the world would make it happen, not only by financing it but by recruiting the help of the world to assist with coding problems. Imagine a world where products were made to be durable without planned obsolescence, where they would be built with the least amount of resources and waste. Where the world community could give input and troubleshooting ideas in realtime and the products could be given to the consumer for insanely low prices or maybe one day for free.

Imagine a world where movies, music, plays, albums or art were financed by the people who enjoy them and not bloated media giants who tell you what is cool or you should like. Imagine a world where artists get an opportunity to get financed because people like their work not because some gallery/label owner says they are good. Imagine a world where scientific research is not backed because it is profitable but because it benefits human and maybe even non human kind. Where medicine looks for the cure instead of trying to keep patients hooked on symptom diminishing drugs, with so many side effects they are fucked if they do and fucked if they don’t take them.

Imagine a world where donations would go directly to the people/fur/feather/scale people in need, to worthy events and projects, even those that only serve as comic relief, without a middle man who takes more than a small cut. Imagine a world where schools are financed by people who believe in what and how they teach, where people can build/host them with the help of the global community and connect them world wide though the digital one. Where community projects are truly backed by the communities they serve and people who are inspired by them instead of having to live off the crumbs our governments allocate to us. This my friends is the true power of community based blockchains and cryptocurrency such as steem.

Even though Steemit and the steem blockchain have broken my heart a few times since I first wrote the above I still believe that it is true and I am still dreaming of a better world and my little part in making it so. I am at a point in life where the universe has put me in a bit of a tight spot but nevertheless I am not dead yet and my Whaledreams are BIG. So let's take a look into my head and my plans for world domination ...

From Steem into Infinity or If I was a Big Fat Whale

If I was a whale I would lay in the deep blue sea drink VODKA or pinas and eat PIE all day! Ohhhh pie you wonder amongst food apple pie ....blueberry ....ohhhhhh peach pie ... Pie ...pie pie, pie ...PIE!!!- That's it folks you can now go home ...show's over ...JK- Ok for reals now I have written about this before and like the past times I am going to break this down in categories so bear with me.

What I would do for myself

384480_2721372674431_202784642_n.jpg

As whale I would fist fix my house. Fi the gaping hole leading to hell in my bathroom floor. Finally warm water would be nice I do not have any and in winter it is more than horrible. I would finally have a kitchen installed (Yup am still without a kitchen). This would be built in a new side wing as it would also be shred by one of the community projects I really want to do. The kitchen would have ample bulk storage for everything ranging from grains to herbs(both culinary and medicinal). I would have it’s own root cellar and pantry and have its own little greenhouse.

I would have my roof fixed and then a copper roof laid instead. I am thoroughly tired of the assortment of pots and buckets catching the drips and pours it is not romantic trust me! Last spring all my winter clothes were destroyed because I did not notice before the net winter that they hd been rained on and were rotting away … (as I am writing this article the happy drip drip pour is reminding me that it isn't men that is coming from the sky- Weathergirls you made false promises!)

Next the abominable vinyl siding on my house would go the way of the dodo. The wood would be fixed and painted robin egg blue with a rain bow trim at the bottom. The porch railing would get the rainbow treatment as well and yes proud member of the LGBTQIA community here!- bite me :P

I would make my self completely energy independent, solar panels on the roof mini wind turbine. state of the art water collection and filtering system. Another greenhouse / doggy hangout in the back yard.

And last but not least, new tech comp, server for various projects and maybe one or two witness ones, a new laptop and phone. I would build myself a recording studio with everything I need , an atelier with all the supplies needed and a pottery oven. I would build some of this on a second story so I would need a mini elevator as I cannot really do steps anymore. And yes the ultimate luxury a housekeeper to help me with stuff as my progressing illness takes its toll. Yes as I told you my whale dreams come in whale size.

If I were big fat whale I would buy the rotting decaying house next door and tear it down. The land would be split up in 3 parts 2 parts for the community project, one part as shared space with the kittehs one for the project alone. The other part would expand the back play yard for the pups.

the extended backyard would be split into 3 pieces. Two smaller runs for Siggy and play group 1 that would be accessible from a revamped dog room 1 making it possible to turn dog room 0.5 into a high velocity laundry room which I really need because the kids make messes! The third yard would be accessible for playgroup 2 at all times excluding special play times with playgroup 1-3. This new setup would give them well deserved freedom to go outside when they felt like it and no longer be dependant on having to wait for me/or their turn to go out.

Next I would get a wheelchair for Mooburt. As many of you know Mooburt has lost most of the use of his back legs and although his new setup and the nappies have improved his quality of life a wheelchair would give him freedom to move. For this the back deck would have to be in place as well as a ramp for him and the other seniors as most of them are starting to struggle with the steps. The deck would also make it easier for me to be with the kids out back as my own physical abilities are becoming progressively limited. It would give us more quality time together. Plus it would keep it that way even as my illness progresses.

the very small dogroom 3 would be turned into a wet room where I could shower myself and the kids. i would also install the bathtub in there. it would just make things so much easier for all of us as I would be able to bath the pooches and not have to worry about getting the whole house messed up.

My dogs love water so I would also love to build a container pool where we could all hang out ….

Now to the kittehs- first of all I want to screen in the front porch and make it accessible to them. Second I would like to open the walls of my bedroom into a screened porch that would face the community garden area that would also be accessible to the cats. on the other side of the house I would build a two story catio these measures would expand their outdoor space while keeping them safe. I really want to bling out the cat rooms by installing climbing walls and a cat wheel, hanging cat bridges and facilities all over the house to make life a lot more fun for them and extend their space.

what I would do for the wider Nonhuman community

save_the_planet6_by_corvus_sky-d3dkddl.jpg

Originally I wanted to adopt one or two pigs, some chickens, some goats and maybe some mini donkeys. But as my illness has progressed I have realised that I just would not be able to handle the workload anymore and that would not be fair to any of them. So that dream will need to be laid to rest but it would not stop me from regularly donating to sanctuaries, no kill shelters, rescues, farm and wildlife sanctuaries, wildlife rehab centers and groups like Sea Shepherd.

Next to this I would love to create a pet food bank to help people in the neighbourhood that might need help feeding their animals. In our economy today many people give up their no human family members because they can no longer afford to feed them. I would love to help people never to have to make that choice, the world sucks enough as is.

lastly I would want to keep on promoting and educating the public on the benefits a plant based diet. It is not only healthier as several clinical studies prove, but it also eliminates the threat animal agriculture causes to our planet's future. Animal agriculture is one of the most volatile businesses today. It causes immense suffering to non human animal kind, is one of the major forces killing our planet and a major player in the world hunger epidemic. My Facebook friend Paul Watson can tell you how we are killing our oceans with our fishing, fish farming and waste policies.he has been fighting this shit for decades all his ships are plant based! At this point in history one of the most ethical choice a person can make at this point in history is to go plant based, and if you feel that animals should not suffer for us in any capacity going vegan would be the next choice.

What I would do for my physical community

As I mentioned before I would be buying the house next to me and tearing it down, In it’s place I would be building a two story house inspired by the Phranakorn Nornlen Hotel in Bangkok this new place would be a internet cafe and community centre on the bottom and small community library on the top. I love how that hotel created its living, eating and outdoor spaces you can get a feel for it from the pictures on the side. Both my non-human and a human food bank would be hosted there as the people really are struggling in my area. As I mentioned before my kitchen would be a shared kitchen with the cafe,. in the cafe we would offer low cost plant based meals, free tea, low cost coffee as well as Free soup once a day.

So what all would you find in the library. Well the library would have 2 stationary computers (for those without a smart phone or laptop to use for free.) The library would also hold a job bank database where people could offer services against services or items they need. The library would loan out books in a traditional system but we would also distribute digital media and books for free. And we would have e-readers that people could use upstairs for free as well. As I mentioned in the fur people portion part of the cafe property would be a green space for the kittehs to enjoy but also for the community to enjoy from a screened in porch in the dining room. The side wall of the dining room would have sliding doors opening up to the porch visitors could enjoy, eat work and spend time in. In summer the doors on that wall would be completely open. basically making the dining hall an open airy space.

Another thing I really would like to do would be to by 2 empty houses across from my house ,the broken down one to the side of us as well and the empty property next to the first two. One house, which is ugly I would tear down. The other, another approximately 100 year old gem, I would renovate and turn it into a totally energy independent guest/ logging house for the wider project.

Originally I wanted to build tiny houses on the one property of the ugly house I want to tear down and a community garden on the empty lot. On further thought I was thinking to do it the other way round, as the lot has a lot of very pretty trees we could build around and make it unique. On the empty lot where the house was torn down is where the community garden would end up, the cafe, foodbank and store would grow food there seasonally and some plots would be allotted for people in the wider community, who might not have a yard they can grow food in. My neighbourhood is somewhat of a food desert so this would be a game changer for some I think.

One house down from the house next to me, or where the community centre/cafe would be located is another old house. I would love to buy that one and turn it into a free community clinic and vet office as well as a small store. It is in pretty bad shape so I am not sure it can be restored but if it could not we could always build new. The store would offer everything from food to cloths, either self made or refurbished second hand. Seed could be traded there as well and people could commision their art works and crafts. the general idea for payment would be trade but also a paying system built on steem (steem debit/rechargeable cards and readers). People could get them at the centre/cafe and use them to buy the meals, pay library late fees and the goods from the store via steem. The incentive would be that everything sold would be 10% cheaper with steem, as I really would love to not feed the corrupt monetary system more than I have to.

I have a ton of followup ideas such as a school based on the ree school concept, spaces to create art , and do scientific research a workshop where we could build out off grid systems and teach the wider community to build some for themselves but this post would get so outrageously long you would beat me with a stick ...

What I would do for the steem community

As I said in the introduction and a million times before Steemit and the Steam blockchain are potentially a lot more than just creating content and getting paid for it. I see widespread applicability in various fields. As whale I would help promote, upvote and finance projects ranging from scientific research, to community projects, from social education projects to art projects.

I am a firm believer in a resource based economy, the only way we will ever get there though is to create alternative pathways around the current monetary system, be it through crypto, or trade and open source sharing. For this reason any scientific research and/or engineering breakthroughs that would be financed by myself or would receive full funding through the platform would have to promise to make any findings available open source. Art and Music projects financed would have to promise to allow people to work with their material under a creative commons licence. This does not mean they would not be able to sell their work or make money off of it but I am a firm believer that art can birth other art and that by cutting off that avenue the true spirit of creation is being murdered in its sleep- this is why anything I create is always under creative commons. So if I am financing your work in a major way it is just what I expect of you.

As whale I would definitely curate on a regular basis and downvote shitposts on a regular basis as well. Why / Because these idiots re raping the rewards pool and like weeds they are suffocating the miracles that could come out of this platform, and obviously good content needs support.

I already host the #electricdreams contest but as whale I would host a boat load more. Why? because it gets people engaged and it is also fun :D

If my physical community program gets somewhere, I would love to network with other micro communities but also help people build some of their own. It would be great to have an interconnected database and cloud based library where they could all support each other with knowledge and resources. Maybe later one could even create an economy where select unique goods could be traded amongst communities and skilled professionals cold come and assist with individual projects across the communities.

We already have @dtube and d-live but I would love to see some form of Steem TV happen where independent journalists could stream live news feeds, but also user made original series and movies could be broadcasted. As whale I would be all over that and allocate steempower and steem ect.

That brings me to the end of this seemingly never ending post if you made it this far you are amazing and as reward I offer you my minnow ballad :D

Oh this makes me wish you were the biggest whale of all! You would do the best with it! If I were a big fat whale, I would fund you.

And get a mortgage on a little house with the mountain behind, the ocean below, go green, off the grid, and live off the land as much as possible (I mean, chocolate, come on). I would foster (which would help cover the bills anyway) and write, and give as much back to the community as I could, finding worthy causes to support, running plenty of regular contests and finding all the little writers in need of curation, but mainly, I would fund you <3

I love the idea of having journalists use steem for live streaming and reporting. Fantastic post here !!

Upvoting for kitty time, matey!
