Her ending...

How the crowd cheered. How his Lil Sophea will be so proud of her father. The Greatest Boxer on this side of town.

And the story continues on...

Tears slowly started to fill her eyes. She could not withstand the pain in her chest, it was like a sharp knife pierced through the deepest part of her soul. Taking a deep breath, she held her poise firm and hard.

Putting down the cotton that was soaked with Dettol on the bedside table, she walked over to the dressing table and opened up the top drawer. Slowly taking out the brown coloured envelope, she held it close to her body.

Babe, I'm going to head for the showers first. If you're tired, sleep first ya. We'll talk in the morning. I've got to head out to Mikey's with the guys to map out next week's match.

Sandra clutched the envelope in her hands. She had planned to give it to him a week ago but knowing that he was all worked-up about tonight's match, she thought it was best to wait.

She's had enough. The sleepless nights, the worry and fear that he might not be walking through the doors every time he goes out. It was fine when it was just the two of them. Nothing else mattered! But now, with Lil Sophea growing day by day, it's all just too much for her to bear.

What sort of examples would they be setting to this unborn child? To be born in a surrounding filled with blood, bruise and pain. This is totally unacceptable and abnormal.

She was going to give him an ultimatum. Either his boxing career or them. Her bags were packed and well hidden in the closet. Knowing his usual routine of catching up with the guys after every match, this would be her opportunity to sneak out of the house and catch the late night flight to Arizona. She would leave the envelope with the letter on the dressing table for him. By the time, he comes home in the morning, she'll be long gone.

Her mama will be waiting for her at the ariport when she arrives and they will be heading for St Patrick's Maternity Care so that she can spend her last trimester preparing for Lil Sophea's arrival into this world. Touching her belly, Sandra felt Lil Sophea moved as if assuring her that everything will be alright. That Daddy would come to them and leave this world behind him. But will it ?

What happens next will be entirely up to him. What will he decide ? Boxing or Them ?
