Remember That Not All Is Sweet :The Weekend Freewrite-6/30/2018

It's been raining for some days now, everyone's going out with an umbrella ☔ , the morning started with a shining opening, I thought it's going to shine all through, dad looked up to the sky like a certified astrologist.

"It's going to rain today " with a sad face.

I understand why, we have a wedding in church today and it's a family friend, rain is the last thing we wanted.

The church service started well and close to the end, dad's prophecy is about to be truncated. The closing hymn sung and we all began to proceed in the opposite direction we came.

I had barely stepped out of the church when I felt the first drop on my head. I looked up, it was a droplet 💧 💧. The photographer also felt it and motioned to us to be fast in taking the group photography.

All of a sudden a strong wind came in, lifting the canopy off those under it, blasting it against some people as it tumbles away, many ran into the church for cover with the canopy following them, the wind was getting stronger by the seconds, hitting the church glass and repeatedly blocking the left door entry with the canopy.

We all ran inside too to take a cover, I could see my brother's face down with sadness as he couldn't believe his eyes, on his most joyous day this is happening 😔 😔 .

Then came the heavy rain with some high degree of torrent in it, thirty minutes after everything was quiet, the sun came out in such a lovely way like an heavenly sign, we know we are good to go, that's how it always happens here.

We stepped out joyously and gently 'cos the ground is getting kind of mudy, took the photograph and proceeded to the reception hall, just a stone throw.

The winning and dinning follows, couldn't believe beans could be serve in weddings these days. What the fuck is wrong with the caterer, I know some people can eat beans with abandon and never suffer side effects. I can too but not my mum, many people develop heart burns when they eat beans. For me am addicted to beans, when cooked with rice, made to go with bread 🍞 , as a supplements to cassava flakes. Beans is a utility kind of a food, though it was served in a minute way, I could see some people couldn't hide there addiction and love by asking for more.

The musician plays a lovely tunes to welcome the newest couple.

The time came for the gifting, the bride's father came up and told us how happy he is seeing his daughter get married to the love of his life, we were so happy too seeing this.

He proceed by gifting the new couple a brand new car 🚗, everywhere was charged with a standing ovation, a wedding disrupted by rain has ended with a happily ever after kind of a thing.

The Groom's father too came out, admonishes the couple to live in love and harmony all there life, respect one another and keep on learning 'cos that's what it takes to be a couple. He end his words with a quote.

"remember that not all is sweet"
